We are thoroughly enjoying warmer weather at the Soll house!! Although we haven't had many perfect days (too humid...as in 100 degrees and humid or too rainy), we've tried to take advantage of the warmer weather and days off.
Silas just gets more and more fun. Jake got a bike trailer for the bike yesterday and the boys just left on their second bike ride together.

I love that they have something fun to do together and I get a little quiet time to catch up on laundry and blog (and the house needs cleaned too...ugh!). I bought Silas a helment yesterday at Scheels. He screamed and cried at Scheels when we tried it on but didn't seem to mind having it on when the boys left tonight for their ride. He had his little speakers, set to fun songs for Silas on my itouch, which he can adjust the volume (he seriously LOVES his music) and his water bottle...which he also seriously loves.

Last night the three of us went to the Johnston Green Days festival for the first time. It was super hot but we had a good time anyway. We ate dinner there and then walked around and checked out the carnival. I took Silas on the carousel and big slide - both of which he was NOT a fan of. I really thought he'd enjoy both but he ended up clinging to me. I wish I could zoom in on the pictures because his facial expression on the slide is pretty funny.

Look at this darling picture of Silas checking out the ferris wheel - he was so intrigued!
This morning Silas and I headed to the Capitol for the 5k Heartwalk for the American Heart Association's fight against heart and stroke disease. There were somewhere from 3-4,000 people that showed up!

A patient of mine, Scott (see picture) was one of the guests of honor so we went to support him. It was great seeing him and his family again and I got teary-eyed as his shared his story all over again with the crowd. He was only 38 when he had his first stroke and has had three more since then (in only a year and a half). He has done remarkably well in recovering but had to retire from the police department. Silas and I got there way earlier than we had to (I thought it started an hour and half before it did) but we got to enjoy the music, Silas played with dogs and danced and played some of the games. Jake ended up joining us for the walk and we took a little detour down to the farmer's market and then joined back up with the group to finish the walk. It was a fantastic morning!

Here a few more cute pictures of sweet Silas!
Peek-a-boo!

Silas loves to smell my lillies!

Rockin' a mowhawk!
I took Silas to the pool for the first time a couple weeks ago...lets just say he was way more interested in his snack than in the pool. :) P.S. I have no idea who that lady is creepin' in on my picture.
