I realized today that I didn't write you a note to commemorate your 3rd birthday so before we get too far out from your birthday, here it is.
Dear Silas,
Three years ago you made so happy and fulfilled my dream of becoming a Mommy. I cannot imagine a more beautiful, more energetic, sweeter, more caring boy than you. Every day I am mesmerized at the boy you have become. Your manners are amazing, your perception of those hurting and your desire to help blow me away. Your memory is unlike anything I've ever seen. You remember events and details from a year and a half ago, which my mind cannot fathom. You are brilliant. Our "dates" on Pancheros Fridays (yes, I made up Pancheros Fridays) and our special picnics, day trips to the zoo or going for a walk or just playing outside together are memories I will cherish forever.
I pray that you will grow up to love The Lord and serve Him in ways that I cannot yet comprehend. I pray that you will love and serve your wife as your Daddy does me. Look to Daddy as an example of what it means to be a man, a father, and a husband. And if you want a second example, look at your Papa. Both are great men of integrity and faith, which is what I want for you to become.
I love you more than you will EVER know or ever fathom. Please keep your joy...people comment to me allege time on what a happy hold you are. I hope that you will also be a happy, joyful man.
Love, Mommy
