Silas' 1st State Fair!

Silas had his very first Iowa State Fair experience today! Jake and I took Silas to the state fair today to see goats, pigs, horses, cows, baby chickens & ducks, and just about every other animal you can think of. :) Here is his first state fair picture - look how excited he was! Of course Silas loved all the animals. He kind of stood in awe at the cow and then kept saying "Moooo" while we looked at the cows. He really had no fear around the animals until a sheep came up to where he was standing on the other side of the gate and went "Baaa" at him - he slowly backed up, looked back at me and then decided next to Mommy might be a safer place to be. :) We saw a big named "Bubba" which is sometimes what we call Silas (or some variation...Bubba, Bubbies) so Silas and I had to get a picture with him...although you can't really see the pig. Ha!

Here are some pictures of the other animals Silas loved looking at:

I took Silas down the big slide (seriously, have you ever met anyone who didn't smile going down that slide?). Silas didn't seem to mind it and even had a smile on his face at the end.

We hit up the industrial building for a cup the chocolate chip cookies (my favorite!), checked out the pools, and walked for miles. It was a hot day but not nearly as humid as it had been a few weeks ago so we definitely enjoyed the nicer weather and being outside. Silas absolutely loved the big tractors hauling people here and there. He'd stop immediately when he saw a tractor, wave, and yell "Hi!" to all the people. Everyone waved back and laughed. Once again, he stole the show. :)

And here is my sweet family at the fair...I love this one!!
