Silas is quite the chatter box these days. I'm sure this comes as no surprise to those of you who know his father...okay, let's face it, his mother too. :) He imitates nearly ever word/sound we make when we when tell him, "say ___."
Tonight I had the news on while I was feeding him dinner and a story came on about dogs. He started saying, "Puppy! Puppy! Puppy!" I had no idea he even knew how to say puppy! Of course we point out puppies all the time but it was just a few months ago he'd yell, "Daaaaa" (as in, dog) when he saw a dog. Then outta no where he starts saying puppy. Crazy! I bought him some new pajamas over the weekend that have trucks on them. We put them on tonight and he immediately points to the trucks and says "Caa" (he calls trucks, cars). I was so impressed that he took that initiative himself to name something and recognize it.
He's also become quite the backseat driver often yelling "WOAH" when we have to stop quickly or turn a sharp corner. Really...where does he get this stuff?? And he's lately had a runny nose so when I get a booger out of his nose and show him, he says, "Oooo!" as if he's impressed with the size (or color...or whatever!) of the booger. What a ham!!!
Here's a quick list of the (newer) words Silas says: bubbles (pronounced "bah-boo"), Daddy, Mommy, puppy, Papa, Popsicle (pronounced "pa! pa!" while pulling at the freezer door), mine (really, why did I teach him this one?), bath (pronounced "bah" at around 7:45pm each night), wow, uh-oh, and oh. He says, "oh" while holding his hands out in a questioning manner when he is looking for something/someone. It is seriously SO CUTE!
Silas got his first haircut just over a week ago. Jake said it was time for the (curly) mullet to go so I took him to The Lollipop where he sat in a fun chair to get his hair cut. He cried the entire time, scared I was going to leave but I turned in to the mamarazzi and took pictures. I'll post them later when I have more time.
Well, that's the update on Silas! I can't believe how much he's changing on a daily basis. He looks so much like a little boy now, especially with his hair cut. We're enjoying summer days at the splash pad and trying to beat the heat with lots of popsicles. :)
