37 week update

Today was our 37 week update....at 7:40am. UGH! What was I thinking when I scheduled those early ones?? Oh well, we were anxious to have an update and I did just take a nearly 2-hour long nap. :)

I am currently 3cm dilated and 50% effaced. Not a big change from last time -- Jake thought I'd be at 5cm and they'd send us right to the hospital. :) She said, "you can go at any time!" but I've played that game before. I remain calm and keep reminding myself, "or I could be dilated for another 3 weeks". Okay, in all honestly, it's hard not to get a little excited. She asked if I was having contractions...no, I'm not. This is good though, right? Shoot, let me dilate as far as I can without any pain - sounds good to me!

I keep getting suggestions on how to get this little one to start moving and believe me, we've tried them all. Old wives tails are just that - old wives tails. These little babes come whenever they darn well please. In the meantime, Jake and I are trying to savor some precious moments together. We've gone out to eat, vegged out on the couch watching a movie, slept in...all those glorious things we will soon miss.

Guess that's all the update I have for now! Every time I call my dear Mother now she thinks I'm going into labor. She can't hardly stand the wait either. Maybe between her, Jake, and myself, we can pray this kid out!?
