Our 38 week check up was yesterday and.................no change. Still 3cm dilated and 50% effaced. I really can't complain, except we were hoping for some progress. Oh well.
My Mom came yesterday and spent the night. We shopped, had lunch with Jake, my aunt, and cousin, did more shopping and then got pedicures in the afternoon. And last night the three of us went out for sushi. I've heard pedicures can put you into labor so I thought it was well worth the shot - that and I had been promising myself one since last summer when I got pregnant. Mom even gave me an extra foot rub last night to try and spark something but no such luck so far.
The doctor said she would strip my membranes but it doesn't guarantee anything and might just make me contract without actually going into labor. And she said it's somewhat painful. I passed on the offer. She also said we could do an elective induction after 39 weeks, but we'll hold off on that too. The little man will come when he's ready.
That's all for now! I'm off to the gym - maybe I can walk him out!? :)
